An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Family Law Solicitor with experience in child care proceedings to join a busy and close-knit team at a well-established, forward-thinking law firm based in Telford. This is a key role within a supportive department that undertakes a high volume of publicly funded child care work. You will handle a varied caseload of sensitive and often complex matters, working alongside experienced colleagues who are committed to delivering high quality representation and client care.
The successful candidate will be confident managing their own caseload and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, reliability and professionalism are essential.
The Role Will Include:
- Managing a caseload of public law children matters including:
- Care proceedings
- Supervision orders
- Emergency protection orders
- Special guardianship applications
- Placement and adoption proceedings
About You:
- You will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in child care / public law children work
- Ideally be a member of, or working towards, the Law Society Children Panel (not essential for the right candidate)
- Have experience of Legal Aid Agency procedures and compliance
- Be organised, proactive and able to manage a demanding caseload
- Have excellent client care skills and the ability to work with vulnerable clients in sensitive situations
- Be a team player who thrives in a busy department
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
