The Technical Litigation Department is made up of three specialist teams: Mortgage Recoveries, Unsecured Lending, and Asset-Based Lending.
The team handles a wide range of complex and defended matters, including:
- Defended return of goods and mortgage possession proceedings
- Defended money claims
- Title disputes and satisfactory quality claims
- Guarantor claims and third-party applications
- Conversion and innocent purchaser disputes
- Breach of contract claims
- Bankruptcy matters and other non-standard debt recovery issues
This is a technically strong team dealing with work that sits well beyond the standard volume debt recovery process.
This is a senior role requiring autonomy, technical expertise, and leadership. Key responsibilities include:
- Independently managing a complex and defended litigation caseload, from document preparation and issue through to court attendance where required
- Achieving and exceeding MRT targets
- Supervising junior members of the immediate team, as well as supporting wider volume teams
- Working closely with clients, managing key relationships, and attending client review meetings
- Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments
- Ensuring compliance with all internal risk and compliance requirements
- Maintaining continuous professional development and ensuring all mandatory annual e-learning is completed
The firm is keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- 5+ years’ PQE as a Solicitor, or qualification via the Legal Executive route (FCILEx)
- Experience in motor finance and/or asset finance recoveries and litigation (desirable)
- A strong interest in business and product development
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
- Familiarity with working across multiple document management systems
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
