Location: Darlington (Hybrid working available, not fully remote)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: Dependent on experience (DOE)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Assistant or CILEx Legal Executive to join a busy property team. This role involves providing high-quality support to fee earners and property executives, ensuring smooth management of residential property files including purchases, sales, remortgages, and transfers of equity (both freehold and leasehold).
You will be responsible for managing client communications, conducting enquiries, preparing and checking documentation, and assisting with file progression in line with legal and firm procedures. Accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional client service are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support fee earners with caseload management, including file maintenance and progression
Communicate with clients, solicitors, agents, and lenders professionally and promptly
Collate, send, and check documentation as part of property transactions
Handle incoming calls, post, and enquiries effectively
Verify client identification in line with Money Laundering regulations
Follow internal procedures and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Identify opportunities to cross-sell other legal services where appropriate
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience within residential property/conveyancing (legal department or property-related role)
CILEx or Licensed Conveyancer qualification preferred
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email systems, and case management software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional, motivated, and proactive approach
