Job Title: Senior Solicitor – Regulatory & Criminal Defence Location: Leeds Contract: Full-time Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor with 6+ years\’ PQE to join a growing regulatory and corporate crime practice based in Leeds. This is a newly created position following significant growth in instructions, offering the chance to work with a first-class client base, including leading names in the retail, transport, and logistics sectors. This is an ideal role for an ambitious lawyer looking to take on greater responsibility, work across a broad spectrum of high-quality regulatory matters, and play a part in business development and team leadership. The Role As a Senior Solicitor, you will work across an exceptional range of regulatory and corporate crime matters. Responsibilities will include: Advising and representing clients on a variety of issues, including health, safety and environmental law, product and consumer law, transport law, financial crime, supply chain matters, and corporate crime/defence. Supporting and representing clients during PACE interviews, inquests, and proceedings in the Magistrates\’ and Crown Courts. Providing clear, practical, and commercial advice to clients across diverse sectors. Working autonomously on complex matters while collaborating with colleagues on larger cases and projects. Supporting high-profile investigations and prosecutions, including CPS and HSE matters. Assisting with client account management and contributing to business development initiatives. Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team. About You We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate: At least 6 years\’ PQE, with strong experience in at least two of the following areas: health and safety, environmental law, consumer/product/food law, transport law, financial crime/supply chain, or corporate crime/defence. Experience handling criminal and regulatory matters, including investigations, enforcement, inquests, and court proceedings. Excellent technical skills combined with a commercial and client-focused approach. Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills. The ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider team. An interest in business development, team leadership, and practice growth.
