An award-winning Legal 500 law firm in the North East is looking to recruit a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer (up to around 3 years' PQE) to join its growing Court of Protection - Health & Welfare team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in a highly specialist, people-focused area of law. While prior Health & Welfare experience is welcomed, the firm is very open to retrains from related areas such as Court of Protection (Property & Affairs), family law, mental health or safeguarding, with full training and supervision provided.
The role
- Advising and supporting vulnerable clients who lack capacity in relation to care, treatment and living arrangements
- Managing Court of Protection applications, including complex or contested matters
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, families and professionals
- Working closely with health, social care and rehabilitation teams
- Handling a varied caseload across Legal Aid and private client work
About you
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX, up to 3 years' PQE
- Experience in a people-centred area of law and confidence dealing with sensitive matters
- Strong communication, organisation and client-care skills
- Interest in developing specialist expertise in Court of Protection
- Law Society Mental Health Accreditation advantageous but not essential (support available)
