A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join its growing Contentious Trusts & Probate team. The firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to private clients and offers a supportive environment for career development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in contentious probate work to gain exposure to a broad range of complex and high-value disputes.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting fee earners on a varied caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters, including:
- Will disputes (e.g. lack of capacity, undue influence, fraud, and forgery)
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Trust disputes and administration issues
- Executor and trustee disputes
- Drafting routine correspondence and legal documents
- Assisting with litigation processes, including preparation of court bundles
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and third parties
- Managing case files and ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Conducting legal research as required
- Supporting billing, time recording, and general file management.
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally within litigation or private client
- Understanding of civil litigation procedures
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Professional and empathetic approach to sensitive client matters.
