An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal PA to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Manchester. This role is ideal for a proactive and highly organised Legal PA who enjoys supporting fee earners in a fast-paced professional environment while delivering a high standard of client service.
The Role
- Provide comprehensive PA and administrative support to fee earners, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of matters and maintaining excellent organisational standards.
- Manage fee earners’ diaries and task lists using a computerised diary and task management system to ensure deadlines, appointments and key dates are met.
- Produce accurate and timely documents using digital dictation and case management systems.
- Create new clients, matters and contacts on the case management system in line with internal procedures.
- Draft, amend and finalise documents in line with house style, including advanced formatting, tables of contents, tracked changes and comparison documents.
- Maintain the case management database, ensuring all data is accurate and compliant with data protection requirements.
- Proof-read all work before submission.
- Prepare correspondence and documentation ready for signature and dispatch.
- Attend team meetings and prepare minutes as required.
- Handle professional communication with clients, internal stakeholders and external contacts.
- Book meetings, arrange travel and accommodation, and manage logistics as required.
- Manage file administration including file opening and closing, billing support and archiving.
- File and document management, primarily electronic.
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures, regulatory requirements and relevant legislation.
- Work collaboratively with other Legal PAs and administrative staff to ensure work is delivered in a timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Legal PA or Legal Secretary.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, team-focused approach.
- Experience using legal case management systems (Partner for Windows or similar preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including tracked changes, outline/multilevel numbering and tables.
- Audio typing experience or qualification.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
Desirable
- Experience or knowledge of database systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using PowerPoint.
