Simpson Judge is instructed by a leading international law firm seeking to recruit a Leveraged Finance Associate (1–3 PQE) into its London Banking & Finance practice. The successful candidate will join an established finance team advising on a range of sophisticated domestic and cross-border leveraged finance transactions.
The Role
You will work alongside partners and senior associates on a broad range of financing matters, including:
- Leveraged and acquisition finance transactions
- Sponsor-backed financings
- Private credit and direct lending
- Senior, super senior and unitranche facilities
- Refinancings and recapitalisations
- Cross-border financing transactions
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, intercreditor agreements, security documents and ancillary finance documentation
- Managing transaction processes and liaising directly with clients, counterparties and overseas counsel
The position offers the opportunity to develop significant transaction experience and take on increasing levels of responsibility as you progress.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are qualified solicitors with approximately 1–3 years' PQE
- Have experience within a recognised Banking & Finance practice
- Have exposure to leveraged finance, acquisition finance, private credit or related financing transactions
- Have experience drafting and negotiating LMA-style finance documentation
- Demonstrate strong technical, drafting and transaction management skills
- Are commercially minded and comfortable working directly with clients
