An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded Legal 500 firm as Head of Department - Family Finance. This is a strategic leadership role within a progressive, well-established firm known for its high-quality work and collaborative culture. You will take ownership of the Family Finance offering, leading and developing the department while playing a key role in shaping its future growth. THE ROLE
- Lead and develop the Family Finance department, setting direction and driving growth.
- Manage a high-quality caseload of divorce and financial remedy matters, often involving complex and substantial assets.
- Act as a senior figure for clients, providing strategic advice, advocacy, and negotiation to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Recruit, mentor, and train junior and mid-level solicitors, supporting career development and building a high-performing team.
- Play a key role in expanding the team, with the opportunity to shape structure, resourcing, and future hires.
- Lead on business development and marketing, including networking, thought leadership, events, and strengthening referral relationships.
- Work closely with the wider partnership to contribute to the firm's overall strategy and continued success.
- Represent the department externally, enhancing its reputation in the family finance market.
ABOUT YOU
- Qualified Solicitor with ideally 8+ years' PQE in Private Family.
- Strong experience in divorce and financial remedy work, particularly involving high-value and complex assets.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team, or a clear ambition to step into a Head of Department role.
- Commercially minded, with an interest in business development, marketing, and growing a practice.
- Passionate about mentoring, training, and developing others.
- Membership of Resolution or relevant accreditations is highly desirable.
