A leading national legal practice is seeking a Solicitor or CILEX-qualified Lawyer (2–4 years’ PQE) to join its specialist Casualty Sports team based in Leeds. The Casualty division provides a comprehensive defendant litigation service across both public and private sector clients, handling a broad range of public liability (PL) and employers’ liability (EL) claims.
The team is recognised for delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal support, including work on complex and high-profile matters involving sports organisations, governing bodies, athletes, clubs and insurers. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you will manage your own caseload under supervision, ensuring claims are handled efficiently and with a pragmatic, client-focused approach.
You will also support senior lawyers on more complex matters, assisting with disclosure and document review (including e-discovery), drafting witness statements, conducting legal and factual research, preparing instructions to Counsel and experts, producing client reports, and attending court hearings and client meetings. You will be expected to respond promptly and accurately to client queries and correspondence, and to contribute to the smooth running of the wider team. Additional responsibilities may be required in line with the broader needs of the role.
The successful candidate will have prior experience and a strong interest in defendant EL/PL litigation, along with the ability to demonstrate a proven background in managing EL/PL personal injury claims with a solid understanding of negligence and health.
