Are you a technically capable Project Manager who still enjoys getting hands-on with software development and system improvement projects?

We're looking for an IT Project Manager / Software Developer to join a well-established financial services organisation in London.

This is a rare opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from gathering business requirements and managing stakeholders through to system design, implementation and bespoke development.

Working closely with the Head of IT, you'll play a key role in driving technology initiatives, modernising business systems and delivering projects that directly impact the organisation's operational effectiveness.

The Role

This is a broad and varied position that combines project management, business analysis and software development responsibilities.

You'll work with business stakeholders, external suppliers and internal users to identify opportunities for improvement, implement new technologies and enhance existing systems.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing the full lifecycle of IT projects from initial concept through to delivery and support.
  • Gathering and analysing business requirements to design effective technical solutions.
  • Evaluating, selecting and implementing new software platforms and business applications.
  • Developing and customising systems where required to meet business needs.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supporting cyber security, audit and regulatory initiatives across the IT function.
  • Creating technical documentation, procedures and training materials.
  • Providing knowledge transfer and technical training to both IT and business users.

About You

We're looking for a technically minded professional who enjoys solving business problems through technology and can confidently manage multiple projects and priorities.

You’ll ideally have

  • Previous experience in an IT Project Management, Systems Analyst or Software Development role.
  • Experience delivering projects within Financial Services, Banking or another regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience implementing and supporting business applications and packaged software solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently within a small, highly collaborative IT team.
  • Experience with some of the following technologies would be highly beneficial:
  • Out Systems
  • PHP
  • Microsoft SQL Server / SSIS
  • Power BI or Tableau
  • Database design and data warehousing
  • Excel VBA
  • IBM RPG / CL
  • Windows Server
  • IIS
  • Git

Knowledge of security‑by‑design principles and cyber security best practices would also be advantageous.
