I’m working with a well-established boutique law firm based in central Manchester that is looking to recruit a Family Law Paralegal to join its close-knit team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience in family law to join a progressive and supportive environment, with real scope to develop your skills and take on more responsibility over time.
The Role
You’ll be supporting solicitors across a full range of family law work – including divorce, financial remedy, and private children matters. Depending on experience, there will be the opportunity to manage your own files under supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting clients throughout their matter with empathy and professionalism
- Drafting client care letters, conducting AML checks and verifying ID
- Preparing legal documentation including divorce petitions, financial statements (Form E), C100 applications, and other family law forms
- Carrying out legal research and assisting with case preparation
- Preparing court bundles and attending hearings to support the solicitor
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files (electronic and paper)
- Supporting billing processes and recording time accurately
- Assisting with general administrative duties as needed
About You
This role would suit someone with a genuine interest in family law and at least 6–12 months\’ experience in a legal environment, ideally within a family or private client team.
Requirements:
- Law degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Comfortable dealing with sensitive client matters in a professional way
- Previous use of legal software / case management systems is an advantage
