NQ Family Solicitor – Legal Aid Focus

Location- Liverpool

Salary: DOE

Full Time | Permanent

Simpson Judge Legal are working with a respected, long-standing law firm based in Liverpool who are looking to expand their Family Law team with the addition of an NQ Family Solicitor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor, or a trainee due to qualify within the next few months, who has a passion for family law and is looking to build their career within a supportive environment. The firm has a strong reputation for its publicly funded family work and is committed to delivering quality legal aid services across the North West.

The Role:

  • Managing a caseload of legal aid family matters, including domestic abuse, child arrangements, and care proceedings
  • Assisting senior fee earners with more complex cases
  • Drafting legal documents, preparing court bundles, and attending court hearings
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, and third-party professionals
  • Supporting vulnerable clients through sensitive and often urgent matters

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ – 1 year PQE) or due to qualify shortly
  • Previous experience within family law, ideally including legal aid work
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • A genuine interest in working with publicly funded family cases
  • Legal Aid Supervisor accreditation is a bonus, but not essential
