They are seeking an experienced Employment Law Partner with fresh ideas and innovations to contribute to the continued success and growth of both the department and the firm.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the department’s strategy and planning, developing new business initiatives to drive growth and further enhance the practice. You will also actively mentor and support junior colleagues, helping them to achieve their full potential. Leading an experienced team of Employment Solicitors and Fee Earners across their offices in the Southwest and London area.

  1. Work on a range of employment matters to support client growth or expansion; from breach of contracts, grievance and disciplinarians, TUPE transfers, visa applications, redundancy processes, negotiating and drafting settlement agreements, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing claims. Where possible, prioritise negotiation over litigation to achieve effective and amicable resolutions.
  2. Collaborate closely with other highly regarded Employment Partners, as well as the wider litigation and corporate commercial departments, leading a team of junior lawyers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  1. Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with strong background in Employment Law. 10 PQE + to build your own offering from an existing book of business.
  2. Ability to lead and work well with others along with balanced judgment and the capacity to confront and resolve a variety of situations.
  3. Have an entrepreneurial passion for fast growth markets.
  4. Proactive business development in evolving markets. Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and repeat business.
  5. Lead and develop the firm’s Employment and Immigration practice, setting strategic goals to grow and enhance the department. Collaborate with other partners to drive the firm’s overall growth and business development initiatives.
  6. Provide expert legal advice on complex employment law matters, including contracts, disputes, terminations, redundancy processes, and compliance with UK employment laws.
  7. Represent clients in Employment Tribunals, High Court litigation, or other dispute resolution forums as needed.
  8. Mentor and manage a team of solicitors, associates, and support staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high morale. Promote a culture of excellence, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services. Oversee the team’s compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
