An established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a Contentious Probate Paralegal to join its busy litigation team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in contentious trusts and estates work to gain hands-on experience in complex and high-value disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors with a broad range of contentious probate matters, including will disputes, inheritance claims, and trust disputes
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and witness statements
- Managing case files, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
- Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other third parties in a professional manner
- Attending client meetings and, where appropriate, court hearings
- Supporting with disclosure exercises and trial preparation
Requirements
- Previous experience in litigation or contentious probate (preferred but not essential)
- A law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification; LPC/SQE preparation or completion advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
