An established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a Contentious Probate Paralegal to join its busy litigation team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in contentious trusts and estates work to gain hands-on experience in complex and high-value disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting solicitors with a broad range of contentious probate matters, including will disputes, inheritance claims, and trust disputes
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and witness statements
  • Managing case files, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other third parties in a professional manner
  • Attending client meetings and, where appropriate, court hearings
  • Supporting with disclosure exercises and trial preparation

Requirements

  • Previous experience in litigation or contentious probate (preferred but not essential)
  • A law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification; LPC/SQE preparation or completion advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach
