RESPONSIBILITIES- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including software licensing, service agreements, consultancy, and outsourcing arrangements.
- Advise clients on intellectual property, data protection, IT security, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, translating client business objectives into practical, legally sound solutions.
- Provide ongoing commercial support, including maintaining templates, updating agreements, and anticipating future risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, senior lawyers, and external specialists to ensure the right expertise is applied to complex matters.
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales, ideally with 3-5 years post qualified experience in commercial law.
- Proven track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including software licensing and service agreements.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property, data protection, and IT/compliance matters.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate contractual risks while providing commercially practical advice.
- Experience working directly with clients and collaborating with senior lawyers or external specialists on complex matters.
- Previous mentoring or training experience is desirable, particularly in supporting junior lawyers or law students.
- Ambitious and motivated to grow within the firm, with a long-term goal of progressing to director or partner level.
