A leading UK law firm with a highly regarded leveraged finance practice is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Managing Associate into its London team as part of continued growth driven by strong deal flow and client demand. This is an opportunity to join a well-established, high-performing team acting for private credit funds, banks, PE sponsors and portfolio companies across a wide range of mid-market leveraged and acquisition finance transactions.
The Opportunity
You will join a high performance leveraged finance team advising on a broad range of financing structures including:
- Senior facilities
- Unitranche structures
- TLB and first out/last out financings
- Sponsor-backed MBOs and acquisition financings
- Complex, bespoke mid-market debt structures
The team acts for a strong mix of lender and sponsor clients and is consistently instructed on high-profile mid-market deals, offering exposure to excellent quality work and repeat clients. You will work closely with recognised partners in the leveraged finance space and collaborate regularly with a well-established Private Equity practice.
- Advising lenders, sponsors and corporates on leveraged and acquisition financings from origination through to completion
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, commitment papers, term sheets and intercreditor arrangements
- Running transactions and managing workstreams with appropriate supervision
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development activity
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
- Working closely with PE colleagues on sponsor-backed deals
We’re keen to speak to lawyers who:
- Are UK qualified with 3+ years’ PQE in leveraged or acquisition finance
- Have experience acting on private equity-backed or mid-market financing transactions
- Are confident handling key documentation including facility agreements and intercreditor arrangements
- Enjoy working in a team-driven, commercial environment
- Have strong client skills and a proactive approach to business development
Experience acting for private credit funds or direct lenders would be particularly attractive, but is not essential.
