An established UK law firm is expanding its Risk & Compliance function and is seeking two experienced Managers to join a growing central team. The roles report into a senior risk lawyer and offer exposure to high-level, firm-wide risk and compliance matters. You will act as a key escalation point for complex and higher-risk issues, while also managing a broad portfolio of risk, compliance and best-practice projects. This is a varied and influential role suited to someone confident advising senior stakeholders in a professional services environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advising partners and staff on complex risk and compliance issues, including professional standards, ethics, regulatory requirements, data protection and conflicts
- Supporting senior risk leadership in embedding a strong culture of compliance across the firm
- Leading risk and compliance projects and advising on the risk aspects of new business initiatives
- Producing and analysing risk and compliance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Updating core firm documentation, policies and guidance materials
- Designing and delivering tailored risk and compliance training to practice groups
- Monitoring regulatory and legal developments impacting the firm
- Escalating higher-risk matters to governance committees and preparing briefing papers
- Coaching and supporting junior team members
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have experience working within risk and compliance function in a Law firm.
- Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing legal practice
- Excellent communication, drafting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate (desirable)
- Legal or compliance qualifications (desirable)
- Experience managing or mentoring others (desirable)
