Commercial Litigation Solicitor – Leeds

The Opportunity

A well-established and growing law firm is looking to recruit a Commercial Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive (minimum 2 years’ PQE) to join its dispute resolution team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious lawyer to take ownership of a varied commercial litigation caseload while working within a supportive and forward-thinking team. The role would suit someone confident in managing matters independently and keen to further develop their expertise in complex disputes.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle an existing caseload from the outset and play an active role in contributing to the continued success of the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a broad caseload of commercial litigation matters from instruction through to resolution.
• Support senior colleagues on more complex, multi-track disputes.
• Provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients across a range of contentious matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and marketing activity.
• Ensure thorough file management, including appropriate due diligence and compliance procedures.
• Keep up to date with relevant legal developments and procedural rules.
• Work collaboratively to achieve fee targets and maintain accurate time recording.
• Monitor and manage billing and aged debt in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 2 years’ PQE in commercial litigation.
• Demonstrable experience managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and dispute resolution strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of organisation and attention to detail.
• Confident user of case management systems and general IT platforms.
