Commercial Litigation Solicitor (NQ+) – Sutton Coldfield

A long-established and well-regarded regional law firm with a strong West Midlands presence is seeking an ambitious Commercial Litigation Solicitor (NQ+) to join its expanding Dispute Resolution team. This opportunity offers exposure to high-quality, complex commercial work within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will work on a varied caseload of commercial disputes, acting for a broad range of clients including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, national companies, and professional service providers. Responsibilities include:

• Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
• Assisting senior fee-earners on complex, high-value and strategic matters
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and settlement agreements
• Conducting detailed legal research and preparing advice notes
• Attending hearings, mediations, conferences with counsel, and client meetings
• Supporting urgent applications and fast-moving instructions
• Engaging in client relationship management and business development activities where appropriate

High Court Litigation Exposure

The team regularly handles High Court matters, and candidates with existing High Court experience will be viewed favourably. This may include:

• Injunctions and urgent interim relief
• Multi-track, high-value commercial claims
• Complex interim applications

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate strong technical skills and excellent drafting ability
• Have experience within commercial litigation from a training seat or current role
• Be commercially minded with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice
• Be confident in dealing directly with clients and managing their expectations
• Work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• Be motivated, proactive, and keen to progress within a growing practice
