There are not many roles at this level where you can genuinely shape the direction of an audit practice. This is one of them.

We are working with a well established, Top 50 accountancy firm in London that is looking for an experienced Audit Associate Director to join their growing team. This is a senior leadership hire with real responsibility and a clear pathway to Partner for the right person.

The Role

You will take ownership of a significant audit portfolio with fee value of circa Β£1m, overseeing delivery across multiple engagements spanning entrepreneurial owner managed businesses, large UK groups, and listed entities. You will work closely with Partners, lead and develop audit teams, and play an active role in business development and the wider growth of the audit practice.

What You Will Be Doing

Leading the planning, execution and completion of audit engagements to a high technical standard, acting as the primary client contact and supporting Partners in delivering a genuinely partner-led service. You will provide leadership and oversight to Managers and audit teams, review technical outputs, contribute to client proposals and tender opportunities, and keep senior leadership informed of engagement progress, risks and opportunities. There is also scope for involvement in specialist and advisory assignments as they arise.

What They Are Looking For

ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience at Manager or Senior Manager level within audit. Listed entity experience is essential, alongside strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, accounting standards, auditing standards and company law. Commercially minded with proven experience managing client relationships and contributing to business development. Someone who wants a predominantly audit-focused leadership role and is ready to take the next step toward Partner.
