An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a well-established business within the construction sector based on the Wirral. The successful individual will join a friendly and supportive finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. This role would suit an experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking for a varied position within a collaborative working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
- Assisting with payment runs
- Managing and maintaining supplier accounts
- Supporting the Financial Controller with day-to-day finance duties
- Assisting with credit card reconciliations
- Ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and in line with company procedures
- Providing ad hoc support across the finance function as required
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous Purchase Ledger experience
- Experience using Sage 50
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to team efforts
