Position Overview:

My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Wills and Probate Paralegal with a minimum of 1 years’ experience to join a dynamic team in Hammersmith. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex Private Client cases and a strong understanding of wills and probate processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Estate Administration:

  • Assist with the administration of estates, including obtaining and organizing relevant documentation (death certificates, asset records, etc.).
  • Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, and relevant parties involved in the estate.
  • Draft and prepare applications for probate, letters of administration, and other legal documents required for estate administration.
  • Help with preparing tax forms related to inheritance tax and estate planning.

Will Preparation:

  • Assist solicitors in drafting, revising, and executing wills, including gathering necessary information from clients and ensuring all wishes are documented.
  • Ensure wills comply with legal standards and address client needs.

Probate Process:

  • Guide executors through the probate process, from filing the will to obtaining a grant of probate (or letters of administration).
  • Manage the preparation and filing of documents with the court, including petitions, applications, and inventories.
  • Handle the distribution of assets in accordance with the will or state law, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Communication & Client Relations:

  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and other legal professionals involved in the probate and estate planning process.
  • Keep clients informed of progress and provide guidance on legal matters within the bounds of the paralegal role.
  • Manage sensitive client information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Legal Research & Compliance:

  • Conduct legal research related to probate law, estate planning, inheritance tax, and related topics.
  • Ensure that all documents comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate law and probate procedures.

Document Management:

  • Maintain accurate, organized files for each client and case, ensuring that all records are kept up to date.
  • Prepare and manage a variety of legal documents including affidavits, inventories, and accountings.

Court Filings & Appearances:

  • Assist with filing documents with the probate court and other relevant authorities.
  • May be required to attend court hearings or meetings with clients and executors to assist solicitors.

Client Meetings:

  • Assist in meetings with clients to gather information and provide updates on the estate administration.
  • Help draft and organize documents for client review during will or estate planning discussions.

Qualifications + Experience:

· Paralegal with at least 1 year of experience in .

· Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to Wills and Probate, Tax's etc…

· Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

· Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and efficiently.

· Demonstrated client-focused approach with a strong commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
