A well-established commercial law firm is looking to appoint a Banking & Finance Associate (2-5 PQE) to join its growing London team. The Opportunity

  • You will advise on a broad range of financing matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers across a variety of sectors.
  • The work includes real estate-backed transactions, corporate lending, refinancing matters and bespoke financing arrangements for a diverse client base that includes financial institutions, investors, privately owned businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
  • The team operates with a lean structure, allowing associates to take ownership of matters, build close working relationships with senior lawyers and partners, and gain meaningful involvement throughout the lifecycle of transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on a wide range of banking and finance transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation and ancillary documents
  • Managing transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and other advisers
  • Working closely with colleagues across corporate, real estate and private wealth teams on cross-disciplinary matters
  • Supporting business development initiatives and helping strengthen client relationships

About You

  • England & Wales qualified Solicitor with approximately 2-4 years' PQE
  • Experience gained within a recognised banking and finance practice
  • Exposure to lender and/or borrower-side transactions
  • Strong drafting and technical capabilities
  • Commercially minded with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable managing matters and taking responsibility for client relationships
  • Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop within a growing practice
