Simpson Judge Legal are working with a well-established and highly regarded commercial law firm in Liverpool, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join their growing Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a partner-led team handling high-quality, complex litigation, offering strong career progression and early responsibility.
The Role
You will join a busy and experienced disputes team, working closely with senior lawyers while also managing your own caseload. The role offers exposure to a wide range of high-value and business-critical disputes, acting for a diverse client base including SMEs, corporates, directors, shareholders, landlords and investors.
You will be involved in:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters from instruction through to resolution/trial
- Drafting pre-action correspondence, pleadings and court documents
- Advising clients on strategy, risk, costs and commercial outcomes
- Handling disclosure, witness statements and expert evidence
- Attending hearings, mediations and settlement meetings
- Supporting on complex, high-value disputes alongside partners
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering commercially focused advice
- Supporting business development and networking activity
The caseload is broad and will include:
- Contractual disputes
- Debt recovery
- Shareholder and director disputes
- Professional negligence
- Property litigation (including landlord & tenant disputes)
- Injunctions
- Insolvency-related disputes
- Contentious probate
The firm is looking for a driven and commercially minded solicitor who is keen to take the next step in their career.
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution
- Strong working knowledge of CPR and litigation procedures
- Experience managing files with appropriate supervision
- Confident drafting and advising on complex matters
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach
- Strong organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines
