Simpson Judge Legal are working with a well-established and highly regarded commercial law firm in Liverpool, who are looking to appoint a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join their growing Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a partner-led team handling high-quality, complex litigation, offering strong career progression and early responsibility.

The Role

You will join a busy and experienced disputes team, working closely with senior lawyers while also managing your own caseload. The role offers exposure to a wide range of high-value and business-critical disputes, acting for a diverse client base including SMEs, corporates, directors, shareholders, landlords and investors.

You will be involved in:

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters from instruction through to resolution/trial
  • Drafting pre-action correspondence, pleadings and court documents
  • Advising clients on strategy, risk, costs and commercial outcomes
  • Handling disclosure, witness statements and expert evidence
  • Attending hearings, mediations and settlement meetings
  • Supporting on complex, high-value disputes alongside partners
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering commercially focused advice
  • Supporting business development and networking activity

The caseload is broad and will include:

  • Contractual disputes
  • Debt recovery
  • Shareholder and director disputes
  • Professional negligence
  • Property litigation (including landlord & tenant disputes)
  • Injunctions
  • Insolvency-related disputes
  • Contentious probate

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution
  • Strong working knowledge of CPR and litigation procedures
  • Experience managing files with appropriate supervision
  • Confident drafting and advising on complex matters
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach
  • Strong organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines
