About the firm

Simpson Judge are currently working with a leading Scottish law firm, renowned for providing high-quality legal services to a wide range of clients. They are seeking a proactive and highly organised Employment Legal Secretary to join our Employment Law team. You will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to their solicitors, enabling them to deliver the highest standard of legal advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audio and copy typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports
  • Diary management, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel
  • Managing incoming and outgoing calls and emails in a professional manner
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures and compliance requirements
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, and other third parties
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems (both digital and paper-based)
  • Assisting with the preparation of court documents, bundles, and other legal paperwork
  • Supporting the Employment Law team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required

About You

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary (preferably within employment law)
  • Fast and accurate typing skills, with a strong grasp of grammar and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a professional and confident manner when dealing with clients
  • Discretion and respect for client confidentiality
