We are working with a well-established boutique law firm in central Manchester, who are looking to hire a commercial litigation solicitor with approximately 4 years' PQE to join their busy team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a commercially focused litigation team handling a wide range of disputes for business clients, property developers, landlords, tenants, and corporate clients. You will manage your own caseload while working closely with senior colleagues, providing both contentious advice and practical, commercially minded solutions. The work is primarily commercial litigation, but candidates with experience in property litigation will be highly regarded, as the team often deals with landlord and tenant disputes, possession claims, dilapidations, and secured recovery matters.
- Manage a broad caseload of commercial and property litigation matters from instruction to resolution, including settlement and court proceedings.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, settlement agreements, and enforcement documentation.
- Conduct negotiations and provide advice on litigation strategy, risk, and commercial outcomes.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and case conferences where required.
- Liaise with counsel, experts, clients, and third parties to progress matters efficiently.
- Maintain accurate time recording, billing, and costs management, contributing to the firm's commercial objectives.
- Support business development, including client meetings and relationship management.
The Candidate
- 4+ years' PQE in commercial litigation, ideally with exposure to property litigation.
- Strong technical and procedural knowledge across civil and commercial dispute resolution.
- Confident in client-facing situations, with excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage own caseload, and contribute to a growing team.
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused.
