Solicitor - Private Client / Lifetime Planning

Location: Gloucester or Stroud
Salary: Competitive, dependent on PQE and relevant private client experience
Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

My client is recruiting for a qualified Solicitor to join an established and growing Private Client/Lifetime Planning team, with the role available in either Gloucester or Stroud.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career within a specialist private client environment, working closely with individuals, families and business owners on a range of lifetime planning and asset protection matters.

The ideal candidate will have around 2 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within private client work. However, candidates with less PQE will be considered where they can demonstrate strong and relevant private client experience.

Salary is open to discussion and will be determined according to PQE and, importantly, the depth and quality of private client experience gained.

The Role

You will provide practical, thoughtful and commercially aware advice to clients on a broad range of lifetime planning matters, taking the time to understand their wider circumstances, priorities and long-term objectives.

Your work will include:

  • Advising clients on Wills, trusts and LPAs
  • Supporting succession and estate planning matters
  • Advising individuals, families and business owners on future planning and asset protection
  • Identifying clients' wider needs, risks and objectives rather than simply responding to instructions
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
  • Developing your own network through networking and business development activity
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting more junior members of the team
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm's Private Client/Lifetime Planning offering

About You

My client is looking for a qualified solicitor with genuine private client experience, ideally with around 2 years' PQE.

Applications from solicitors below 2 years' PQE will also be considered where there is evidence of exceptional private client experience and the ability to handle matters with a high degree of autonomy.

You should have:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Strong experience working on private client/lifetime planning matters
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • The ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and practically
  • A personable, approachable and empathetic manner
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and professional contacts
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • An interest in developing your profile and contributing to business development

What's on Offer?

My client offers a supportive and ambitious environment within a modern law firm that places significant emphasis on client service, professional development and long-term career progression.

The role offers:

  • Competitive salary, subject to PQE and relevant private client experience
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working
  • 25+ days' annual leave
  • Holiday buy and sell scheme
  • Competitive pension
  • Life assurance
  • Gym membership contribution
  • Career development opportunities
  • Employee rewards scheme
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment

Location

The role can be based in either Gloucester or Stroud, providing flexibility for candidates who are commutable to either location.

If you are a qualified solicitor with private client experience and are looking for an opportunity where your technical skills, client relationships and career development will be valued, this could be an excellent opportunity to explore.
