Overall Purpose of the Role
Working as part of the technical team, this role will drive improvements in safety across all divisions and areas, ensuring that people working in the offshore marine industry are working with safe equipment, to appropriate standards and learning from experience. Support the ongoing development of a security strategy and lead the security aspects of the work.
Depending on skills and experience, and subject to a review of structure and outputs, this role may oversee the Quality Management System also.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse safety data from across several reference points and companies.
- Create and release safety flashes, providing learning and development opportunities for all
- Create, improve and manage the annual safety report
- Analyse and lead on safety improvement initiatives, including accident prevention and human factors work.
- Support the working-groups to lead on specific safety topics and discussions
- Support the organisation to advocate for safety improvements with regulators and other bodies
- Review and develop the Security Strategy and propose a future structure to support this work. Security aspects that present risks to accurate marine positioning such as GPS spoofing, risks of autonomy / AI, cable sabotage etc.
- Support the organisation review of quality management, and potentially manage and oversee the QMS for the organisation.
- Manage contractor resource to support safety data analysis and support with safety reporting and initiatives as required.
Skills & Experience
- Leading safety teams, developing a strong safety culture, and managing safety systems.
- Qualifications in Safety, Quality, Auditing or Assurance
- (Desirable) Experience investigating safety failures/errors
- (Desirable) Experience running working-groups and broader stakeholder groups
