A well established and leading organisation in their field require a Competence & Training Lead to manage the organisations competence and training technical output and influence across a diverse and global workforce base. The position reports to the People Director and is an influential position in the organisation.

The post holder will own and oversee the organisations ongoing competence validation and training advice, guidance, standards production and communication/issue of same. Working with key stakeholders including large companies, specialist bodies, government departments and other relevant industry bodies across a wide range of services and technical specialist providers operating in the marine built environment.

The post holder will also be instrumental in managing the efforts of technical experts in workshops and committees in developing and improving standards for the industry in a global context.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in competence assurance models including validation as well as training modules and their quality
  • Demonstrable previous experience of development programmes for technical teams in safety critical roles
  • Skilled in stakeholder and customer relationship management, with excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Track record of managing and developing skilled technical staff
  • Relevant experience and/or degree
  • Knowledge of the marine construction sector and associated competence assurance, training and development requirements
  • Qualifications as an assessor and/or verifier
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Oil and Sector is an essential requirement
