Business Development Manager - UK & Netherlands
Our Client is a leading pipeline provider for the Oil & Gas market for over 50 years and are now exploring new ways to use their expertise to promote low carbon energy sources.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Driving the growth and success of the company. You will be a key member of the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) sales team for OCTG, accessories and energy transition product lines, within UK/NL territories, working towards achieving the UK’s forecasted sales revenues, margins and marketing plan objectives.
Building and maintaining customer relationships, establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, clients and partners through regular communication, meetings and networking, with the aim of maintaining existing customers and increasing the client\'s footprint within the region by developing new avenues of business. Tracking and analysing the performance of business development activities, which involves preparing reports, presenting findings and making recommendations for improvement.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing the company\'s OCTG commercial activities in the UK/NL, with a primary focus on non-LTA customers to build relationships and increase sales/market share where relevant (value over volume strategy).
- Working closely with stockists/distributers to ensure the company as the OCTG supplier to their LTA customers within the region.
- Supporting the UK sales team, to achieve the sales targets in terms of revenue, volume and product mix for the company, as per the sales plan and in accordance with the company\'s worldwide growth plan.
- Working alongside the contract managers & other relevant departments to submit commercial answers to tenders or RFQs in accordance group/ regional procedure.
- Ensuring timely booking, invoicing and cash collection, continuously reviewing outstanding invoices and taking necessary actions to close out any pending payments.
- Establishing regular customer sales visits to Operators, Independents and service companies to promote the company\'s capabilities for pipes, services and accessories.
- Supporting Contract Managers to understand customers’ requirements and tailor service offering to meet or exceed their requirements.
- Identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status within the OCTG product line or through New Energy organisation.
- Supporting Sales Manager, in generating annual budget forecasts, projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products & services.
- Utilising Regional and Group support and expertise to build knowledge and sustainability.
- Ensuring that customer care and satisfaction is optimised both in terms of designated contract responsibilities and new business opportunities.
- Providing market intelligence and feedback to Senior Management as required.
- Having an awareness of marketing and competition awareness. This includes developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the company\'s products or services, as well as analysing and responding to competitive activities in the market.
- Building a funnel and creating opportunities. Ensuring to report within CRM system along with feeding the SD & S&OP files in a timely manner.
- Promoting effective communication and collaboration within the team by addressing conflicts, encouraging teamwork and ensuring that all team members feel valued and supported.
- Being flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and market conditions by proactively addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, quality and legal regulations.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Preferably educated to degree level in Business Studies, Marketing or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar commercial position, ideally within the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Experience in business development, sales, or a related field is crucial.
- Familiarity with the industry in which the company operates is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to assess market opportunities, analyse data and make informed business decisions.
- Possessing the ability to operate at a strategic level to identify and capture new business opportunities.
- Holding an in-depth knowledge of the market situation, including competitors, to report trends which will influence Company Strategy.
- The ability to negotiate effectively is crucial for closing deals and forming partnerships.
- The ability to develop and implement business strategies that align with the company\'s goals and objectives.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients, partners and internal teams.
- Organisational, interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills as the role will involve liaison with senior personnel across the internal and external customer group.
- Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and capable of working well both alone and as part of a team.
- Possessing the ability to prioritize and co-ordinate multiple tasks to meet targets.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Completion of all mandatory local and group policies and procedures.
- Training and competency matrix under review and update.
ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION
- Regional and occasional International Travel will be required in this role, subsequently a full driving licence is essential.
- Ensuring compliance to all Management Systems and where applicable client procedures in line with ISO 9001:2015.
- Complying fully with all local and group company policies and proactively contributing towards meeting company objectives.
