THE ROLE
The Operations Coordinator supports the Sales and Tendering function by establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving accurate cycle times for field joint coating (FJC) and related operational activities. The role acts as a key interface between Sales & Tendering and operational departments including Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Engineering, and Planning—ensuring that tender inputs are credible, consistent, and aligned with actual operational capability. This is a developmental / junior role, focused on data gathering, coordination, and structured analysis rather than decision‑making accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development & Maintenance
- Establish and document current-state cycle times for all relevant field joint coating and associated activities.
- Gather cycle time data from historical projects, operational SMEs, planning, engineering and SCM inputs.
- Create and maintain a controlled cycle time database for use in tenders and operational planning.
- Identify variances/inconsistencies in cycle time assumptions from tender reviews and client discussions.
- Track and analyse downtime and repair/reject rates for live projects.
- Cross-Functional Interface
- Act as the single point of coordination between Sales & Tendering, Operations, SCM, Engineering, and Planning/Execution teams.
- Facilitate structured information flow so tender inputs reflect operational constraints, resource availability and engineering assumptions.
- Track and follow up actions from cycle time alignment meetings and reviews.
- Tendering Support
- Provide cycle time inputs for bid schedules, execution strategies, and risk/opportunity assessments.
- Ensure tender assumptions are documented, traceable, and consistent with approved operational data.
- Support responses to internal and external queries related to cycle time assumptions.
- Continuous Improvement & Data Quality
- Highlight gaps, outdated data, or inconsistencies in existing cycle time information.
- Support initiatives to standardise cycle time definitions and improve data capture from projects/operations.
- Assist alignment with emerging systems and tools used for operational time capture.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualifications
- Degree (or currently working towards) in Engineering, Operations, Project Controls, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Certifications or training in data analysis, operational planning, or project coordination. (Desirable)
Experience
- Essential: Exposure to operations support, planning, or data-focused roles (including internships, placements, or early-career experience).
- Desirable: Experience within field operations, industrial project environments, supply chain, or engineering support.
Skills & Knowledge
- Essential: Curious and proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn operational processes.
- Strong analytical and numerical capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and workflows.
