As Account Director for our Healthcare sector, you will work in partnership with our existing Healthcare team to grow a combined account into a shared, multi-million-pound target.

Your primary focus is building relationships and opening doors: connecting with decision-makers across Healthcare Trusts, NHS England and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), as well as key partners such as Microsoft, to create a steady flow of new conversations and opportunities.

We are looking for a subject matter expert.

Candidates ideally bring direct experience from within the healthcare sector, NHS England or a comparable national body, with a genuine understanding of NHS data and analytics use cases.

You will bring your account partner's technical and pre-sales expertise into these conversations at the right moment, ensuring Simpson Associates presents itself as a complete, credible partner from first contact through to a signed deal.

This is a relationship-first role: while a sales background is welcome, what matters most is genuine subject matter expertise and an established network within the Healthcare.

While the initial emphasis is on building new relationships and conversations, this is also an account-ownership role.

You will be expected to take shared responsibility for the health of the account and the credibility of Simpson Associates as a delivery-capable partner, not simply to generate introductions and step away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong personal network of contacts across Healthcare Trusts, NHS England and ICBs, understanding who the key decision-makers and influencers are
  • Generate new conversations and meetings through direct outreach, partner relationships (including Microsoft) and attendance at relevant sector events
  • Work in partnership with your account co-lead to develop and execute a joint account plan against a shared revenue target
  • Bring in technical and pre-sales colleagues at the appropriate stage of each opportunity, ensuring customers receive credible, expert input
  • Own and maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline across the combined account
  • Represent Simpson Associates at Healthcare and partner events, building the company's profile and reputation across the sector
  • Collaborate closely with delivery and pre-sales teams to ensure a smooth handover from opportunity to delivery
  • Lead structured co-sell activity with Microsoft and other alliance partners on relevant opportunities, using CRM to keep joint pipeline and account activity accurate and current

Skills & Attributes Required

  • Genuine subject matter expertise in Healthcare, ideally gained from within Healthcare sector, NHS England or a similar national body
  • An established personal network of relationships across NHS Trusts, ICBs and/or national Healthcare bodies
  • Confidence and tenacity in proactively opening new conversations and relationships
  • Comfortable working as part of a two-person account team, sharing ownership of a target rather than working solo
  • Maintaining strong communication and relationship-building skills, with Key stakeholders across NHS Trusts, NHS England, ICBs and combined boards.
  • An understanding of, or genuine interest in, how data and AI solutions are used to solve problems within Healthcare
  • Working knowledge of public sector procurement routes and frameworks (for example G-Cloud and other Crown Commercial Service frameworks), and the ability to contribute to compliant, compelling bids and proposals
  • Comfortable using CRM and pipeline management tools to keep account and opportunity records accurate and current
  • Resilience and a proactive, self-starting approach to business development
  • Advantageous Qualifications And Skills
  • Previous sales or business development experience, ideally in a technology, data or consultancy environment
  • Existing relationships within the Microsoft partner ecosystem
  • Experience working in a joint or paired account model alongside a technical/pre-sales specialist
  • Familiarity with Simpson Associates' Data & AI proposition or the broader data analytics market
  • Job Benefits
  • Annual leave, starting at 25 days, increasing to 28 at 3 years and 30 at 5 years.
  • Matched 4% salary pension contribution
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Private medical cover (following successful completion of probation)
  • Wellbeing platform
  • Life assurance, paying 4x basic salary
  • Income protection insurance (after your first year)
  • Car salary sacrifice purchase scheme
