- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Provide advanced query optimization, index management, and technical leadership to development teams for database-related performance bottlenecks.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop, enhance, and maintain database automation scripts using T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Bash to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency.
- Security & Compliance: Manage change management processes, user access controls (RBAC), and security standards across database and platform environments.
- System Architecture & Documentation: Contribute to technology evaluations, make architectural decisions, and maintain comprehensive documentation within our developer portal.
- Incident Management & Reliability: Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on complex infrastructure issues and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain system SLA/SLOs.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, database administration/engineering, or DBRE roles.
- Database Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture, high availability (AlwaysOn/AGs), performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
- Cloud Computing: Strong working expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in modern scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl.
- Networking & CI/CD: Practical understanding of core networking concepts (VPCs, DNS, load balancing) and automated deployment tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Nice to Have: AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
