Are you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer looking for a role with real technical ownership and influence? Deeter Electronics is looking for a Senior / Lead Electronics Design Engineer to join its established team. This is a senior role within a long-standing, family-owned engineering business, offering the chance to lead product design from concept through to production.
You'll be involved in both new product development and the improvement of existing products, working closely with manufacturing, sales and fellow engineers in a small, experienced team.
Key responsibilities:- Lead electronic product design from concept to production
- Produce schematics, PCB layouts, prototypes, testing and validation
- Improve and maintain existing product designs
- Support component selection, obsolescence and design updates
- Develop and maintain test equipment
- Produce engineering documentation and manuals
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales
- Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement
- Degree, HNC/HND in Electronics or similar, or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design
- Strong PCB layout experience
- Experience with electromechanical systems, sensors or instrumentation
- Embedded firmware experience, mainly C on Microchip PIC
- Able to work independently and take technical ownership
- Practical, hands-on problem solver
- Hazardous area, ATEX, IECEx or safety-critical product experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing and certification
- Experience developing production or test equipment
