As Mergers & Acquisition Analyst , you’ll join our Emerging Businesses team , which focuses on strategic partnerships and inorganic activity to facilitate significant growth in the organisation. The team manages the corporate venture capital operation, the M&A strategy for the Group, and the in-house incubator, Simplyhealth Foundry .

The Mergers & Acquisition Analyst will play a key role in managing competitor intelligence, understanding and segmenting potential markets for all lines of business, analyzing datasets, and monitoring market movements to identify risks and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team aiming to transform Simplyhealth into a multi-line of business group over the next ten years.

Key responsibilities

This role will support the Emerging Businesses team in:

  1. Target market intelligence: Sizing healthcare and related market segments to identify opportunities for investment, acquisition, or partnership using a data-led approach.
  2. Target company intelligence: Segmenting attractive markets to identify suitable target companies for investment, acquisition, or partnership.
  3. Market analysis: Conducting research to understand the performance of competitors and potential markets.
  4. Market analysis: Assisting the Insights function in analyzing internal and external data points.
  5. Market analysis: Identifying pricing strategies, go-to-market strategies, and indirect competition.
  6. Market analysis: Keeping up-to-date with changes in target or competitor businesses.
  7. Reporting: Producing monthly market reports for management.
  8. Transaction support: Managing data room analysis, communication, due diligence, and supporting transaction planning and integration.

About You

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Understanding of financial statements and handling financial data.
  • Knowledge of operating models and go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to build internal and external networks.
  • Project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Curiosity and analytical questioning.
  • Self-starter and team player, adaptable to unstructured environments.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in UK healthcare or financial services.
  • Corporate finance experience.
  • Data analyst experience.
