-Producing insightful variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecast and prior year performance.
-Acting as the finance lead for payroll accounting and associated controls and reporting.
-Supporting claims provision calculations and Solvency UK reporting activities.
-Partnering with Finance and operational stakeholders to provide insight, challenge and support effective decision-making.
-Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.
-Producing management information, reporting packs and Board-level reporting.
-Supporting year-end reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit activities.
-Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and data quality.

About You

We're looking for a motivated finance professional who combines strong technical accounting skills with commercial awareness and a passion for continuous improvement. You'll enjoy working with data, solving problems and partnering with stakeholders to deliver meaningful financial insight.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

-A finance qualification, be part-qualified, or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
-Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end close activities.
-Strong technical accounting knowledge, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
-Experience delivering financial analysis and performance reporting.
-Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial results and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
-Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
-Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems and reporting tools.
-Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI or similar reporting platforms would be advantageous.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
-A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for improving processes, controls and reporting.

Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative team player who enjoys taking ownership, working through challenges and helping the business make better financial decisions.
