As a Trainee Account Manager, you will begin developing the skills needed to build long-term relationships with clients and support them in achieving great outcomes. You will work closely with experienced Account Managers and internal teams to learn how to understand client needs, deliver excellent service, and contribute to ongoing improvements. This is an ideal role for someone motivated, eager to learn, and looking to build a career in account management. You’ll gain hands-on experience through client interactions, internal collaboration, data analysis tasks, and exposure to key systems and processes. We'll provide study support towards a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning so this might suit a recent graduate or college-leaver who is keen to combine work with study. What you'll do:

  • Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Learn how to identify client needs and understand how to recommend appropriate services.
  • Take part in regular client communications, reviews, and feedback sessions to develop confidence in managing client interactions.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality services by helping resolve basic client issues and escalating more complex matters to senior team members.
  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives by sharing insights and assisting with team projects.
  • Develop knowledge of the threesixty Client Portal and modular compliance management system (trust), working with IT and Marketing to support content and functionality as appropriate.
  • Carry out basic data analysis to understand client engagement, competitor activity, and product usage, helping identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support the Account Management and Sales Teams by preparing for and participating in Client Portal demonstrations and issuing contracts for services.

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication, with the confidence to grow into client-facing responsibilities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience in a telephone based customer service role.
  • A genuine interest in working towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning - we'll provide study support.
  • A general awareness of the financial services industry is helpful but not essential.
  • Some awareness of the FCA regulatory framework is advantageous but can be learned on the job.

  • Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester: this is a hybrid-working role. You'll spend a minimum of 3 days each week working in the office with your team.
  • Right to Work: Applicants must already hold a legal right to work in the UK without time restrictions and without the need for future sponsorship - this is a two year development programme and we are unable to provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
