Role Overview: Internally this is known as Key Relationship Manager. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting and growing our network of mortgage firms across the Simplybiz Mortgages and Omni Mortgage Club propositions. Working closely with member firms, lenders and strategic partners, you'll build trusted relationships, identify growth opportunities, deliver training and business support, and help members maximise the value of our products, services and technology solutions. This could be your first step-up from a telephone-based role to a field-based position, owning your own portfolio. This is a highly visible, field-based relationship-focused role combining account management, business development and stakeholder engagement, providing the opportunity to make a direct impact on member success, retention and commercial growth.

What you'll do:

  • Drive Business Performance: Positively influence business levels across mortgages, general insurance, technology solutions and Later Life through proactive engagement and strategic support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively to achieve team KPIs and targets, contributing to a high-performance culture.
  • Personal Accountability: Maintain a strong focus on achieving individual KPIs and delivering consistent results.
  • Project Delivery: Complete assigned project work within agreed timescales, ensuring quality and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage partner and member expectations through clear communication and reliable follow-through.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify opportunities within lender and partner propositions that deliver added value to our members.
  • Business Reviews: Conduct regular review meetings with member firms to identify new beneficial income streams, operational efficiencies, and growth opportunities.
  • Member Engagement: Lead proactive call-out days to strengthen member relationships and deliver meaningful value.
  • Diary Management: Organise and manage diary commitments to maximise time efficiency and ensure strategic alignment of appointments.
  • Event Leadership: Manage onsite setup, host, present and deliver Mortgage Events and Masterclasses with precision, ensuring positive feedback from both members, Lenders and Partners.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to identify new business opportunities, improve member retention, and enhance overall member experience.
  • Membership Growth: Support initiatives to increase membership levels across the Mortgage Club, GI proposition, Later Life lending and technology solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Confidently troubleshoot challenges or complaints, escalating for support when necessary to ensure swift resolution.

What you'll need to succeed:

Essential requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of the UK Mortgage or General Insurance marketplace (ideally both), with a clear understanding of industry dynamics and trends.
  • Proven experience with a track record supporting and influencing mortgage intermediaries (account management or business development).
  • Experience booking your own appointments, managing your time with clients.
  • Experience in complaint handling, ensuring swift and professional resolution.
  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements and an understanding of the role compliance plays within the industry, including how Simplybiz and Omni Mortgage Club support members in meeting regulatory standards.
  • Access to a car with a clean drivers licence.

Desirable requirements:

  • CeMAP qualified, demonstrating a solid foundation in mortgage advice and regulation. If not qualified, willing to work towards the qualification (study support available).

  • Skilled at motivating and engaging intermediaries to drive business performance and increase proposition adoption.
  • Confident in delivering tailored training sessions and presentations to audiences of varying sizes and levels of expertise.
  • Comfortable facilitating Q&A sessions and panel discussions, encouraging engagement and meaningful dialogue.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and maximise productivity.
  • Strong objection-handling skills with a proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach.
  • Strong communicator, capable of building credibility and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working to target.

Important to know:

Your ideal location: Bristol, Bath or Swindon. We are particularly interested in candidates based in or around Bristol, Bath or Swindon, providing a central location to effectively cover the South West territory and maximise time with member firms, lenders and partners. This is a field-based role where you'll ordinarily spend 3 days out of 5 days meeting Mortgage Club members face-to-face. The other two days you'll be doing your planning, preparation and administration.

Good to know:

Base salary £36,000 to £42,000pa plus car allowance of £5,400pa and standard benefits package.
