About us
Simply Stairlifts is an independent, family-run stairlift company based in Malmesbury, with 80+ five-star Google reviews. We help people with mobility challenges stay safe, confident and independent in their own homes.
Many of our clients are elderly or vulnerable, so how we treat them matters as much as the work itself. As we grow, we’re looking for an engineer to join our small, close-knit team.
What you'll be doing
- Installing, servicing and repairing straight and curved stairlifts from brands such as Access, Handicare, Stannah, Acorn, Otolift and Platinum Ergo.
- Finding and fixing faults calmly and efficiently, so no client is left stranded.
- Showing clients and their families how to use their new lift, patiently, until they feel completely safe and confident.
- Representing Simply Stairlifts on every visit and leaving every home as tidy as you found it.
What we're looking for
Technical skills matter, but the right attitude matters most to us.
The right person:
- Patient and kind. You enjoy chatting with older clients and you're happy to go at their pace.
- Respectful. You treat every home as if it were your own gran's.
- Proud of your work. You take ownership of your jobs and want every customer to leave a five-star review.
Your skills and experience:
- Experience as an electro-mechanical engineer. Stairlift experience is a big plus, but we'll give full training to engineers from similar trades (lifts, garage doors, mobility or disability equipment, electrical).
- Strong fault-finding skills.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Clear, friendly communication.
- You must be willing to have an enhanced DBS check, which we will arrange.
What we offer
- £26k-35k, d depending on experience, plus paid overtime and on-call payments
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Company pension and sick pay
- Company van, phone, tools and uniform
- Full product training, with support alongside an experienced engineer until you're confident
- A friendly, supportive family business where you're valued
Why work with us
- You're not a job number. You'll work directly with the owners, Brian and Jack, and your ideas and opinions will always count.
- Get in early. We're a growing business, so you'll join at an exciting time, with real scope to grow with us.
- No sales targets. Your job is simply to do the work properly and look after every customer, not to sell.
- Work that matters. You'll see the difference you make every day, like a customer who can get upstairs to bed again.
