Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Video Editor / Director of Photography (DOP) role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site studio/office work and some flexibility to work from home. The Video Editor / DOP will plan, shoot, and edit social-first video content for a range of brands. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with creatives and account teams on concepts, storyboards, and shot lists;
  • Operating camera, lighting, and audio equipment on shoots;
  • Managing footage, media, and file organization;
  • Editing short-form and long-form videos, adding motion graphics where needed;
  • Selecting music and sound design;
  • Preparing final exports in platform-specific formats.

The Video Editor / DOP will be expected to stay current with social content trends, contribute ideas proactively, and help maintain a consistent visual style and quality across projects.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and strong skills in cutting, pacing, and storytelling for social platforms.
  • Hands-on experience as a DOP, including camera operation (e.g., DSLR/mirrorless/cinema cameras), lens selection, framing, and visual composition.
  • Working knowledge of lighting and audio for video, including setting up lights, managing exposure, and capturing clean sound on set.
  • Ability to create social-first content in multiple formats (Reels, Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, longer-form video) with an understanding of aspect ratios and platform specs.
  • Basic motion graphics and design capabilities (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Photoshop) for titles, simple animations, and on-screen graphics.
  • Strong pre-production skills, including shot listing, basic scripting, planning logistics, and collaborating with producers and creatives.
  • Excellent file management and post-production workflow skills, including media organization, backups, version control, and exporting for multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated experience creating video for brands, agencies, or content studios.
