PURPOSE OF ROLE: To provide an effective and efficient site engineering and supervisory role.
MAIN TASKS:
- Overall responsibility for the safe delivery, profitability, programme and management of all resources on site.
- Preparation and organisation of programme for work activities.
- Prepare H&S Plan and File.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparations of valuations including submitting claims for additions and Extensions of Time, CTCs and CVRs etc.
- Procure materials and sub contract work packages at cost effective prices.
- External contact with sub contractors and ensure timely payments are made.
- Implement and monitor Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance and ensure compliance by on-site team.
- Provide efficient reporting on progress to management.
- Comply with Health & Safety Regulations ensuring that all issues of Health & Safety are monitored regularly and accurate records maintained.
- Assist, or provide members of site team to assist with tendering for new work.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
- Effectively managing workforce issues and developing a team environment.
- Effectively managing all resources available to enable the accurate and timely delivery of the project on schedule and within budget.
- Promoting and attaining quality whilst striving to achieve profitability.
KEY ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge / Experience:
- Engineering experience, ideally on infrastructure, utilities and power projects, including supervisory experience.
Skills:
- Third level qualification in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Membership of one or more associated professional institutes would be advantageous.
- The capacity to promote and attain quality whilst striving to achieve profitability.
- The ability to constructively solve both short term and long term problems within a site environment.
- The ability to successfully implement, maintain and ensure compliance of Health and Safety legislation.
Qualifications:
- Third level qualification in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Other Requirements:
- Fully flexible regarding travel, prepared to travel to site locations and stay away when required.
