We're recruiting for a Field Service Electrical Engineer to join a growing organisation specialising in Southampton, covering the south of England. Salary is £40-45,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, overtime, company vehicle, company bonus etc.

About the Field Service Electrical Engineer role:

As a Field Service Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working independently across customer sites, you'll play a key role in delivering reliable engineering support and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine electrical maintenance, inspections, testing and repairs.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and annual servicing on mobile medical units.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Assist with installations, commissioning and repair work where necessary.
  • Maintain company tools, testing equipment and service vehicle.
  • Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.

Person specification:

We're looking for an engineer with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach who enjoys working independently in a field-based environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, servicing and fault finding.
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, controls and low-voltage wiring.
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Good understanding of electrical testing procedures and safe isolation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the South of England.

Desirable:

  • Previous field service or mobile engineer experience.
