We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at a major manufacturing and distribution site in Bradford on a permanent basis. Salary is £42,000 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience) plus 24 days' holiday (rising with service years) and bank holidays, company bonus, pension etc.
About the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance and breakdown repairs on production plant and equipment, while supporting the overall reliability and performance of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out preventative maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability.
- Undertake both planned and emergency repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- Accurately record maintenance work using the company’s maintenance system (SAP/CMMS).
- Follow industry best practice and all site safety procedures.
- Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements for engineering activities.
- Work alongside contractors during planned maintenance periods.
- Manage and maintain stock levels of spare parts and consumables.
- Carry out fault-finding and diagnostics during breakdown situations.
To be successful in this Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role, you should have:
- A recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience within a processing, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Some experience of electrical maintenance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of using a CMMS/SAP system and working within structured health and safety processes would be beneficial, but full training will be provided.
