We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work on a 6 month contract in St Helens. The role is working Monday to Friday - days. Salary is c£45-47,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, bonus etc.
To ensure the reliable and efficient operation of mechanical equipment and production assets within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining safety and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement across site operations.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, packaging machinery, and processing equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults quickly and accurately, implementing effective corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and production lines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Provide mechanical engineering support to production teams.
