We are looking for a Quality Manager to work on a permanent basis in the Ashton Under Lyne area. Our client is looking for a Quality Manager with previous experience of working in Aerospace, Automotive or Defence sectors. Our client would also consider a Quality Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career and move into a Quality Manager role.

Package: £45-50,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company pension, healthcare and large company benefits.

This role will see you leading the quality assurance and materials testing functions, ensuring the site is consistently prepared for key industry compliance audits and meets required certifications. You'll be the primary contact for quality-related issues and will play a hands-on role in maintaining and elevating customer satisfaction levels by responding promptly and constructively to queries.

You’ll also be a driving force in continuous improvement initiatives and play a key part in supporting new product introduction (NPI) efforts, making sure all quality assurance protocols are embedded from the outset.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A background in engineering, ideally within complex manufacturing environments
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a problem-solving mindset
  • Demonstrated experience in a quality-focused role within high-integrity sectors (e.g., aerospace, automotive)
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement tools like 8D, Ishikawa (fishbone), or 5 Whys
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards equivalent to AS9100, NADCAP, and ISO14001
  • Knowledge of surface treatment processes
  • Hands-on understanding of lab-based quality testing and chemical process compliance (e.g., REACH)
