We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to work on a long term contract in Chorley. The role is working Monday to Thursday - 2 days in the office, 2 days from home. Rate is c£60-63 Ltd per hour (outside IR35, or Umbrella/PAYE equivalent).

Duties for the Principal Mechanical Engineer:

  • You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design activities, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working closely with project and engineering management teams, you will support the successful delivery of engineering solutions while maintaining compliance with industry standards, legislation, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise engineering design teams, providing technical direction and support.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor engineering activities against project scope, budget and programme.
  • Support project delivery through effective management of technical risks, change control and design reviews.
  • Develop and review design documentation, specifications and technical reports.
