Job Description
We are recruiting for a Manual Machinist to work on a permanent basis near Oldham.
Salary is c£33,400 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company pension, healthcare etcIf you are a Vertical Borer with webster & bennett experience, this would be preferred but not essential.
About the Manual Machinist role: This is a hands-on role working with a range of manual machine tools, including lathes, milling machines and drilling equipment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working from technical drawings and producing precision components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities for the Manual Machinist: Operating manual lathes, milling machines and drilling equipmentWorking from engineering drawings and written instructionsMachining components to precise tolerancesSelecting appropriate tooling and machine settingsCarrying out own inspection and quality checksUsing measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and dial indicatorsFollowing established machine shop, quality and health & safety proceduresIdentifying and resolving machining issuesSupporting fitting and assembly activities where requiredThe Ideal Manual Machinist: Time-served Manual Machinist or Mechanical Engineering TechnicianNVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification preferredPrevious experience within a manufacturing or engineering environmentConfident reading and interpreting engineering drawingsStrong understanding of manual machining processes and toolingExperienced using precision measuring equipmentHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailPractical, hands-on approach to problem solvingStrong commitment to health and safetyGood communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a teamFitting and assembly experience would be advantageousHow to apply for the Manual Machinist role: Please call Rebecca at Simply Recruitment Group or press APPLY NOW!
