We are looking for a Sales Estimator to work on a permanent basis for a large engineering company based near Ashton Under Lyne. Salary is c£34-40,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, bonus, healthcare etc.
Duties for the Sales Estimator role:
- Receiving and reviewing customer enquiries via email, phone, and online portals
- Analysing Bills of Materials (BoMs) to determine required manufacturing processes
- Liaising with external suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information
- Logging and tracking enquiries using internal systems and dashboards
- Following up with suppliers to obtain timely responses
- Building cost breakdowns for component parts and processes
- Preparing and submitting quotation documentation to customers
Skills and experience for the Sales Estimator:
- Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive approach with the ability to work within a busy team
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
