About the Opportunity

Simply Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established specialist engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager on a permanent basis. Our client delivers complex electrical infrastructure projects within highly regulated environments across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their project delivery team with an experienced Project Manager who can oversee projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

Previous Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) experience would be a distinct advantage; however, we are equally keen to speak with candidates from industrial, power generation, utilities, rail, infrastructure, manufacturing, petrochemical or other heavy engineering sectors.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple electrical projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from contract award through to completion and handover.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, equipment and materials.
  • Produce and manage project programmes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements.
  • Monitor project costs, variations and commercial performance.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments.
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular project progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Support site teams throughout project delivery and resolve technical or operational issues.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Project Manager.
  • Strong electrical background within industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project budgets.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel to projects across the UK.

Desirable

  • Previous Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) experience.
  • Experience delivering projects within aviation, defence or other regulated environments.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Managers Card.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Temporary Works or CDM experience.
